Hey Guys...here is a little more info. There are aprox 6000 K-1 visas issued every year in the USA. I'm not sure how many marrages involve Russian brides and the INS did a study of international marrages in 1997. The study determined that 80% of the international marrages were still intact after five years as opposed to 50% of domestic marrages that were intact after two years.

Sounds pretty positive but the sample for the study was small (1700 ppl) and I am sure that the industry adn the clients have changed over the last 6 years.
PS why would the Russian women be offended by these articles?

but some of the stories i've read on the net and seen on tv really do paint a picture of lives of men who've married russian girls becoming a massive giant nightmare. Recently on chanel 9 (oz) there was a story about russian brides going to australia, single mothers to marry ozzie guys. s few weeks after they'd arrived the men got home from work to find the police. the russian girl claiming her new husband had sexually molested her child. spooky, nightmare stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. the guys are fully f#@ked cos the police are alwys gonna take it really serious, they all got kicked out of there homes, by the police, to keep the child safe, the women all claimed residency and half the house, the guys lives were ruined, even when found not guilty. it was totally calculated from start to finish. imagine that? liam

hi katya, of course i'm not 100% sure if what the men or women say is true. But its enough of a problem for the austrailian government to change the laws (of property) in oz to protect the men. And yes, i've always been a great big believer that there are a great many men searching for russian girls who'll use them very badly......of course the women has the much much bigger risk...........but its also important for the men to be careful. So what's it like living in the land of Hobbits and Wizards? LOTR really made me want to visit NZ. Big mountains, close to the ocean, and it's all pretty green. true katya, though i can't remember the post you mention. its definately a tricky question. as , soon as you are in any country you are protected by there laws, for good or bad, so , some countries are gonna be kind (nz) and some are gonna be harsh (america http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif ), i'm a resident here in nz for example, i haven't got citizenship cos i don't need it, commonwealth countries have the same queen. as for law, the u.n international court of human rights is helpful and taken real serious here, if you mess with people people because of sex, race, ethnic , culture, language, etc etc your in big trouble. cheers, liam
