Good question I'm not American or English either, but I guess they mean that you are able to provide for your family and that you have a good income. Maybe some of the Russian woman here can answer ?

Well to do Means Wealthy and able to take care of them in a better manner then most normal or even standard ways in other words very wealthy and gold diggers. or women who marry for money and power not love http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

Hello,
this is Peter from Australia. To be very blunt about it if I read a profile where the lady seeks a welathy man then I equate her toa golddigger and will not write to her.
After all what I seek and what I expect come from the heart. I make no promises apart from giving myself and I expect no less from a woman.
thoughts?
cheers
Peter

[QUOTE]Interesting ,if that is the meaning of the words then at least 50 % of the woman on the different web sites are gold diggers. I read to often "well to do " "wealthy" "rich" and "good provider"
I said nothing about being a good provider I said if some one ask for a Wealthy or Well off person. How would it make you feel if I asked how much you make per month and not ask what you look like. Or what kinda of car you drove or even if you have a Large house.
I "well to do" businessman is someone who basically has done very good for themselves financially. A hundred years ago the term referred to the upper class level citizens in British Empire. Well can mean to do something the proper or socially acceptable way. For example "you did that very well". In centuries past it usually referred to the elite class of citizenry basically, not necessarily the rich but mostly upper elites were rich so........
Well to do is similar to saying "way to go"
Well to do means just that "To Do Well"

it is very pleasure, when somebody love you , and caring about you.
and.. men... when you writing, what woman want, may be , you'll ask woman ? ;) becouse you can write only that you think , that woman want. and it is different things http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

you're forgetting such a cliche as "financially secure" http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
btw, gentlemen, i know that lots of ladies (even most - i mean those who actually ain't gold diggers) just want to be sure they are not to find themselves in worse conditions than they've been here.
they do equally want the harmony which consists of Looks, Good Heart, Wealth and (very important) Generousity which means that being wealthy is not that important in itself - a man should be ready and willing to provide for the right lady...
a greedy man will never make any woman happy... even if he is doing extremely well http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
