g'day, just a long shot but has anyone seen the movie "come and see"......i'm thinking about buying it over the internet (amazon.com) but at 120usd its real expensive (a regular dvd here is approx 12usd)...........its supposed to be the definitive exploration of soldiers in war, filmed by elem klimov and set in belarus during ww2. Also what about the movie 'moscow does'nt believe in tear"? anyone seen that?

any other russian movies worth buying?

cheers liam http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

i would recommend all of you to watch movies directed by Mark Zakharov, all of them are just gorgeous, though they do not picture russian life, but they're perfect.
Among them "Kill the dragon", "Formula of love", 'House built by Swift", "Ordinary miracle", "That same Munchgauzen". If ever there's a chance to watch them, they're worth spent time.

No, that is another one, still live and kicking. The guy dead was Sergej Bodrov Jr. His movies by the way are the attempt to picture modern russian life, especially couple of them called "Brother" and "Brother-2". Used to be immensely popular, though personally i don't like the hero of them at all.

thanks http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif katya, i have'nt heard of many russian movies to be honest and i've only ever seen one at a local art film festival...........it was something about the 'sun'......a russian general returns to his small village after the war as a hero, and use's his popularity and fame to play silly little games against the local kgb/nkvd officers.......i'm pretty sure it won 'best foreign language movie' at the oscars a few years ago. liam

wow vicky http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif you recognised the movie from my dodgy description!!!!!!!!!!!, nice-one................... http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
i see where your coming from katya, i could rave for hours about movies and have at times wondered at sheer amazement at some of the complete and utter rubbish that is given oscar status, but, american beauty was a 100% excellent movie. But many many great movies have missed out on the highest accolade simply because there are'nt 'commercial' enough.

Vicky.. with good sauce you can eat everything, even filth, but from it filth will not be delicacy.
With cat that way too. How you will not cook cat, it was cat. But , of course, all have own taste.
P.S. tell me, what you like, and I

hell yes vicky http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif , dogma's an awesome movie, very cool. Especially some of the bizzare conversations about theology and the scene when there talking about "1980's John hughes movies", the 'breakfast-club'...................theres kinda a seris by the director, silent bob.

1) clerks
2) mall-rats
3) chasing amy
4) dogma
5) jay and silent bob strike back. (sadly the last part http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif )

Anyone out there seen the nz movie "once were warriors", about the life of a maori family in south auckland?, if you can get it i absolutley recommend that you watch it. Its a frighteningly realistic portrayl of life for people living at the shit end of 'parradise' nz, very spooky cos i deal with these people on a daily basis at work. http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif liam
