Where IS this?

I am writing a woman in Ukraine who says she's from Solnechnuj. I have used Google and Yahoo and several sites on the internet and can't find Solnechnuj anywhere. Is this a variant spelling? Could it be spelled differently or could it be a suburb of some other city?

I believe I can be of assistance. If that is Solnechniy I know(could be various spelling)- it's in Eastern Ukraine, Lugansk region, area called Donbass, famous for its coalmines. That's the only Solnechniy I know, could me more though, get a little more information, ask the region name. However if this is the one- you are wasting your time looking for it on the net, it's a suburb, just several blocks of buildings for the people who work in local mines and their families. They have few shops, bars and I think also a school. Really not much more to tell. I'll try to track it on Ukrainian site, if any luck- I'll give you the link.

Nataliya...thanks for the information. I know that there are variant spellings for different towns and cities and that could be it. I will write her and ask her about it.
