Where were these air tickets to (the country of destination) for her to meet you? You made no mention of a visa in your post, did she need a visa and if so how was a single lady, travelling by herself to have obtained such a visa?

jdioritz,
I recently got scammed (no money lost though) and with the help of the good people here on this board I have started looking again with a renewed sense of hope.

I will tell you what advice they gave me and hopefully you can apply it to your situation.

Martin (listen to him) gave me the tip to look up any information on a woman with a Google search. Visit all the blacklists you can find...and visit them often, not just once. Take all the information you have on this woman and put everything (including the letters she sent you) on as many blacklists as you can find. There are even law enforcement agencies that will investigate this scammer.

But there is one thing you must do. Never give up. You'll meet your share of scammers and you'll learn their scams, but you must never give up looking.
