It would be possible if she speaks your native language. I assume that's English.

For native English speakers it's a steep learning curve. Gramatically, Russian shares similarities with Latin.

If you're serious about learning Russian and I'd encourage you to do so; it's a wonderful language; I'd suggest the following.

(1) Learn your own grammar and familiarise yourself with the use of cases. Essentially English is not case dependent.
(2) Buy an elementary book, with english explanations written by a native English speaker.
(3) Persevere and don't expect too much too soon.
