There are a few agencies on your site that advertise their ladies and then want money for writing.

Such agencies do not have office, site, sometimes they do not have even girls and use the stolen photos. Do not give money such agencies, do not encourage scammers.

I think it is okay for women to ask you to reimburse them for translation and communication costs if they are reasonable and attributable only to you.

I have seen my share of scammers. hunted a few down, found out others.
It is not about paying for her. Or if she is too proud. From my point of view. She should know basic English, otherwhiles the relationship would have too many problems.
I don't think i feel responsible for her internet costs. However i see nothing wrong in arranging her plane ticket. My income is a lot bigger then her income, and it is only just that if she would visit me, i would arrange the flight for her.

I also see that as important because it shows to things. Her commitment to see if the man she visits is the man she wants. She will learn if that place is the place she would want to be. And it is only just that the man shows commitment too. With arranging the flight he shows that this is not a game, that this is a step towards a permanent union.

It is not about her pride, it is about respecting her and showing her that this is a step done by two people.

I have a simple question for you: What country do you live?

If you say anywhere other than the former FSU then I have a surprise for you. Try and get a young woman from the FSU into the U.S., Canada, or Europe on a tourist visa. Please investigate this topic. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to get a woman into the U.S. or Canada on a tourist visa.

She might come on a finance visa, but please don't just send money for a ticket and expect her to show up. Purchase the ticket yourself and leave it at the airport for her to pick-up.

When you mention this then see what her attiture is? I already posted about possible scams and the BIGGEST one is the ticket scam. They say that if you send them money for a ticket they will come and visit. Problem is that the U.S. and Canada have very strict rules for allowing unmarried women from the FSU into the country. If it was that easy then about 1 billion men would have women over on the next plane.

I've been keeping a running track of women who ask for money. So far, I've had 12 ask for money, most on the third letter although a couple have asked on the first letter. Why would you want to send money to someone before you've had a chance to at least get to know them, at least superficially? I lived in Russia for 12 years and I can tell you that it's never good to give money but it's the kiss of death at the beginning of the relationship. You separate the sheep from the goats pretty quickly. The goats lose interest pretty quickly when they see you're not an easy mark. Secondly, I used to work at the US embassy in Moscow in the tourist visa section. I can tell you that we NEVER gave visas to young, single women. You'll never get them in the country w/o a fiance visa, which can take up to six months. Save your money for a ticket to Russia and a visa.

I have been writing to a woman from the Ukraine. From Lugansk. We have written about 20 letters each. I recieved an e-mail from the translation agency that her account was up and one of us needed to pay. The agency said that they had allowed her some letters on credit. The lady that I am writing to has never asked or written for money. We talk on the phone three or four times a week. She does not speak perfect English but we understand each other as long as I speak slowly. The agency's address is redlady@rambler.ru. Has anyone heard of any scams from here? The letters cost $5.00 each???
The lady's letters are full of questions about various subjects and are certainly not form letters.

I advise to communicate with this lady through the phone.
