2) There are millions of educated men in Russia/Ukraine, and there are millions who are not.....
3) Some western men have thought about the reasons women have.... -some have not thought it through totally...
4) Russian culture vs US/Canada: Some people in the Former Sovjet Union (including, but not limited to Russia/Ukraine) listen to Classical music, visit the theatres, and read the authors mentioned, some do not. The same apply to US/Canada. The movies 'exported' from US do not give the full picture. You can find Theatre, Ballet, Classical music, and Literature in US/Canada!
(If you look hard enough, you may even find a Nobel prize in Literature....)
5) Each woman probably has her own personal reason....
6) Until the opposite is proven, we should believe the women!
(It is not polite to suggest that they are lying).
-Read the profiles, they do not generally suggest that the women are looking for a moron with money.

An interesting suggestion not to tell a lady where you live but totally inpractical.
There are so many jerk-off's out there who only want to talk 'dirty' with these ladies you must enter into serious dialogue else she will dump you for being a jerk-off. Where you live is serious dialogue, it should be one of the first things you should be telling a lady. Would you believe her to be serious if she refused to say where she is from?
Yes, your suggestion would be a way of perhaps eliminating money-grabbers but you can also eliminate these types by reading thoroughly her letters.
Firstly, don't allow yourself to fall in love with a photograph and thoroughly read her letters. If she says something that you are less than happy about or she fails to answer a reasonable question then ask and keep asking until such time as she explains or answers.
Don't interrogate her, just ask and if you cannot satisfy yourself the lady is genuine then move on. Presuming she is a genuine lady don't forget that she should be reading the same into your letters.

I am a man from the Canada and read alot on this topic and decided to put my two bits on it

True some western men are dumb but alot aren't but it is hard to find a women who isn't looking for MONEY. Example i was at a local club where i am from and there was a group of women that saw fit to see a bigger person (not overly fat) come in and pick on him he left after about an hour of abuse .I asked these ladies why and maybe he had money but they didn't see that but i saw the magical glow in thier eyes when i said money . But the thing i am saying is there are alot of women out there and that is all they are looking for whether they be in CANADA,RUSSIA,USA,ETC but the women or men who are looking for love are prety much screwed by the rest cause after they been through relationships where money is all they wanted trust is harder to get.

OK Honey .....Russia is over a 1000 years old , and has all these super smart people living there , the same kind of people that turned on the usa after world war 2 and started the cold war .... now here is the usa only a few 100 years old and in world war 2 when General George S. Patton said that russia would turn on the usa .. the usa now was more powerful at the time ( and still is by far ) did not go to war with russia ... that shows what country was more " Human " after all .. so then the cold war started and in the end russia backed down .. not because they where wanting to be nice but because they where to broke to keep up the war any longer .............. now lets think about this ...... if russia has all these super smart people and have been here over a 1000 years longer than the usa .. then why did they not have all the money on there side ?

I think also the good question would be: "Why Russian/Ukrainian women don't want to marry educated Russian men?" There are number of well mannered educated men is FSU- no doubt. However, not as many as you've mentioned and usually they got discovered very fast and marry young. Besides being educated it's not everything- it's no secret that many educated guys still treat their wives badly due to the fact that FSU is "ruled" by men, chauvinism is in a full bloom there. Women are humans too, they like to be "liberated", whoever is happy with the way things are in Russia- marry local guys, who is not (for any reason financial inclusive)- looking for their partner elsewhere, really simple.

Sure the money and living standards would matter, no one wants to marry unemployed and homeless, but that's not the only reason. Women do realise that they have to live with the person, therefore good level of attraction is a must, not everything is so bad, and there is a "love in a business" in most cases. I'm not talking about puppy love that you have at 16, but more mature different kind that adult people have. Women like you've described exist, but they don't last long and usually discovered very fast and returned back to their homeland, immigration authorities are not stupid nowadays and not so naive. You must have run across one of those and that's why so bitter.

I am by no mean super smart and do not clam to be but I have been around ...I do not know if you are female but( Nataliyais a female name from the russian parts of the world ) but I wanted to give you credit .. you seem to study what people say and not just run right over it .. now that is a sign that you are smart or wise in your ways ... so yes I know there are real smart people in russia .. in that country to get a " higher edu" is a great thing and many people do this.. I do not want it to sound like I think the russians people I do not like because I think russia is a great country as well as many other counties are so it was not my intent to Bash russia .. but I get so tired of people always bashing the usa ... america do not want to take over the world so I wish people would leave them alone.

I notice that people wonder if I am male or female well ok I will tell the room this I am a white man or 36 years I work in security and have been to a lot of places ( yes other counties ) I did not come to this site after a date.. no matter where you are from if you was to find 2 people that was just alike " yes I know that no 2 people are just alike but to make my point lets say they are " and you put one in a good place and you put the other in a bad place .. over time they will change to be like what you put them in or they will rebel but never the less they will not be what you started with .. the core of who they are will still be there but how much will get out .... ? ok now think about a whole country with its own ways .. and the people in it and how many other people they run into in a day and how much it changes a person over time......... here is where it is easy to say that it will not change you .. but just think about this (( like when reading my letters )) lets say you got up one day and the birds where singing and it was a great day . then you go to work and your boss is in a bad mood and takes it out on you so you get mad . well that happens to alot of people but let say that while you was still made you slam the widow shut and the flower pot falls off the window and hits the road below and there is a car crash and some is hurt or killed ... well that just changed you forever .... now just think about how many things happen in a single day....... yes this kinda stuff will happen in most any country so it is the same ..... but at the same time it is not...... office. The girls putting their photo here do this for sake of
emigration only. Soulmates are not wanted, lovers not at all....First question asked by the girls is always : Where do you live , which city ? ....

You guys are just plain silly and are reading too much into an innocent question from a woman. Most people from all countries are very proud of the city in which they live and they enjoy telling people about it. So it is no surprise to me that a woman would ask a man where he is from. It's a polite way of opening up a conversation and a smart person will answer it by talking in some detail about what you like in your city. Remember, if this woman does fall in love with you and marry you, she will end up living there. And if she does not like the city or the region or the climate then that will put stress on your marriage and can lead to disaster. So thank your lucky stars that you have found an intelligent woman that introduces the topic into your conversation early, before your hearts get too tangled.

Also, some women may have completely innocent and good reasons for wanting to know. Remember most women in the FSU do not emigrate and marry foreigners and do not meet men on Internet dating services. The ones that do are likely to have girlfriends that are also open to doing the same because, like women everywhere, they share opinions and attitudes with their girlfriends. This means that you may come across a woman whose best friend has already married and moved away. From her point of view it only makes sense to put most of her effort into meeting men from the same city or a nearby city so that she can renew her relationship with her friend.
