Can email addresses tell if they are scammers? [Archive]

There have been numerous times that I receive letters from correspondents via dating agencies just to find out that the persons do not know anything about it. Therefore, I usually delete any letters that send to me from any dating agencies, or have agencies' addresses at the end of the letters. My question is what you think about letters with funny/cute aliases such as "tenderlove@mail.ru, abletolove@ukr.net, sweet_girl@ukr.net,..?" My funny bone tickles whenever I see such email addresses in the letters http://datingtalk.info/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif . It tells me that
1. the girl is not serious, or
2. it is from a scammer running out of names to use for her new email accounts.
My female friends recently commented that I made quick judgement without taking time to find out about them since they maybe ones of those people who are "lively." You know... the type of person that draws a heart instead of a dot on the letter 'i,' or has cute animal wallpapers in their children rooms, and pink...pink color everywhere in the house.
If you have found and married someone from oversea, did your spouses use such email addresses when she first communicated with you? Do you think that I am a little hasty in my judgement? I am a young and extremely busy executive man with a fortune 100 company. I do much travel and work long hours, and do not have time for either the bar scene or dating. If a job applicant applies for a position in my organization, I usually do not bother to read the contents of their resumes if I see such email address.

Then also don't when you see the likes you gave, in a lot of cases your funny bone tickles the correct senses, unfortunately not the pleasant ones.
In Russia a lot of people use their name(s) to compose an eddress, simple & straight, maybe a postal code or year added, and you also know there will be lots of exceptions on this rule.
I'd tell them precisely what you think, and it's up to them to convince you that they are real, not that you think wrong. The sea is full of fish, and you can't catch them all in any case. First, it is 99 % not the girl, and the boy:).
Or agency on pumping out of money at trustful (silly) grooms. Any normal woman has no such address.
Though you can answer:)
All depends that you search.
If the wife, that, certainly, it is not necessary to answer.
And if you search for adventures necessarily answer:)

I got married in Russia last summer. My wife and I met through www.freepersonals.ru. Neither one of us used 'cute' email addresses. But that's just us.

If you are super busy with your job you are nonetheless going to have to take some time off if you intend to go to Russia or another CIS country to meet any prospective mates. Just book a holiday and set yourself the goal of corresponding with enough women that you are certain you have someone you wish to meet and go do it! You're a business guy, so I don't need to explain objectives and outcomes to you!

Matelo, thank you for your comment. Actually, I did spend two weeks in Moscow, Russia back in 2003. Originally, I hired a dating agency to look for my future bride based on the information that I gave them. It is very expensive service and I do not recommend it to anyone. After more than a month, they gave me a list of possible candidates. They told me that they personally interviewed and checked background of all ladies on the list. I then picked three ladies who are living in and near Moscow city. After several months of correspondence, I decided to book the trip to Russia. The trip included round trip tickets, drivers to pick me up at the airport as well as pick me from the hotel, and took me wherever I wanted to go around Moscow city, and a personal intepreter. The total cost came near to 40-50K, but I did not mind because I wanted to start a family ASAP. Unfortunately, the trip was not what I expected since the first lady was a gold digger, the second one drank wine like water, and the last one barely spoke a word of English. I realized for sure that they lied about themselves or had someone else wrote letters for them. From that point, I decide to look for mate by myself like veryone else. Since that time, I have received hundreds of letters, but written back to very few letters (I do learn from my mistake).
If you do not mind, may I ask where your wife used to live in Russia before she married you? When you decided to meet her in person, did you meet her in Russia's big cities like Moscow or Saint Petersburg, or did you travel to her region? Because people warn me about traveling to regions outside Moscow and Saint Petersburg, I mainly focus only ladies who are living in those cities. For those who live in other former Soviet Republics, I chose only those who are living near the capital cities of their nations.
