Hi

I was wondering what is involved in the cost of travel for a lady from Russia or the Ulkraine. It has been suggested to me that there is the cost of a ticket and then a further cost for a permit to leave the country. This sounds like the cost of a visa or something like that but the US$200 seems a bit high to me

If anybody has further information on this then I would like to hear from them.

My best wishes to everyone involved with a true friend and good companion at this time of the year :p

Kindest regards

Use google and search travel in the area. I train ride for 12 hours lets say from Moscow would cost around 40 US dollars. Internet search for prices is a lot more accurate for what we all tell you....

I've only had experience with Schengen visa a few years ago, the visa itself is not so expensive, around $30 or so (back then). But if the girl needs to "arrange" an invitation, it can quickly get up to $200 or more.

The cheapest way is to send her a personal invitation by mail, with that she can apply for a visa at the embassy. Although they're sometimes hessitant to allow unmarried young girl enter our countries, I never had problems with personal invitations.

And if you decide to stay together, $200 is peanuts compaired to the price for all other documents / travel expenses / ... :)
