Hi, I am new to using free.ru , I have been receiving emails from only one woman from Ukraine, she began sending first email soon after creating profile. Although a lot of text sent back n forth, the focus seems to be on her requesting pictures, no aswers to questions and displaying great lack of tolerance and showing anger. I am a peaceful person who does not push for personal information, i am not in great hurry to meet any particular person from any particular coutry. I prefer to take my time and see how things progress.
I guess what I need most is help identifying scammers looking to rip someone off, or even to help me avoid offending someone when it is clearly not my intention to do so.

What type of relationship are you looking for?
Not answering questions is usually a indicator of a possible scam; could be pre written letters. However, it could also be a problem with translations. Ask the questions again and if they are not answered, ask why she does not answer. If her letters seem pre written, copy then paste a part of the letter in your search engine. Does a scammer site appear?
The anger or intolerance could be from a statistic that states over 95% of men who write will never visit the women they are writing. The Internet can be rather expensive for some people. Do you have the same relationship goals?
Also, know your countries immigration laws.

Hello Kenoath, in this case I'd ask myself would you want to live together with such character (apart from whether she is scammer or not). If you're a peaceful person yourself, it could be better to find a kind character in your princess?

Well, it's not strange if both men and women start writing with 10 or 20 people, so indeed, 90% or 95% of the people you'll never meet.
Not really a reason to get angry over. And if she transfers anger from past experiences to new contacts, it's only another reason to aviod her.

If the internet is too expensive for some people, simply don't use it. Nobody forces a girl to neglect Ukrainian or Russian men.

Of course men should be serious in their quest, like girls.

You aren't wrong, Regarding your issue, i wrote somethings (http://datingtalk.info/showthread.php?t=658) that could be useful to read and to understand that we are in a free personal website and is clear that most women could be merely scammers.

However don't give up but stay sharp! do NOT send MONEY for ANY REASONS!

Under "Scam Reports" on the homepage you can see a last reply by Marilyn, and I have seen evidence that she's a girl from Moscow :) But probably too busy with work or studies these days. This forum simply got into hibernation for some time.

Knowledge of English is not always that good amongst Russian youth, especially outside Moscow or St.-Petersburg. When I register at an average Russian dating site (not aimed at foreigners), I write in Russian about 70% - 80% of the cases.
Maybe girls on international sites use a translator? Or they always had an extra interest in foreign languages, and learned English at the uni.

However.. theres lots of Ladies in the freepersonal website, most of them admit to speak English, that's why im surprised to see that only one is still active.. if we could say so.. why they don't want to use this forum?

As for writing 10 to 20, who has time?
The cost of the Internet is an issue if the woman states clearly what she wants. Some women will say they want a meeting ASAP; I can see their point. But I am similar to Kenoath with regards to getting to know her. Russia is long way to travel, I live in the U.S., for a blind date. We both want to happy? Who doesn't.

The anger issue is interesting and we really need more information before we can conclude the source. If he is being casual and she is impatient, this may be the reason. But either way, it does not mean she is a scammer.

Whether she is a scammer or not, she does not sound compatible with you. I suggest you write a polite termination (you don't have to explain or do it at length) and move on to find a more suitable woman.

It is always worth doing web searches on pieces of text from in profiles and early letters in cases where you suspect a scammer as many of them just repeat the same old stuff. More and more scammers are popping up from English-speaking countries, however, and since they find it easy to vary the text, you do have to be on your toes. I can't think why a serious girl minds having a telephone conversation quite early and this will remove most scammers (but not all).

I have often asked, in the first or second e-mail, how well she is coping with understanding my letter to her. If she doesn't respond to that question it either means she doesn't understand English well enough to form a relationship with me or that she simply is ignoring whatever I write; either way it is time to move on.

Many of these women have been 'teased' with the potential of finding a partner and are quite frustrated. They want to know that you are real, too. Given that you want to be relaxed and take your time, I suggest you be up-front about that and explain it in your first letter, so that you set the tone and leave them to ask about/investigate your intentions as best they can.

From my own experience, out of 10 girl you write, there's a click with 2 or 3. So starting to write with a bigger number can be helpful. Even when it takes all your evenings in the beginning :)
And on Russian dating site like kupidon.ru or lamur.ru it's certainly not uncommon to write with 15-20 people at once.

Those numbers are for dating sites in general. I have found this site to be very good. Yes, there is the occasional scammer but they are usually removed rather quickly.

A 20 to 30% is very good.

You're very right, if people have to ask to question "Is she real, is she appropriate for me?", it's usually too late.

This website is indeed reliable, they're checking profiles constantly (try to double post your own profile, as I once did :D) and removing scammers quickly. You're not one of the administrators of this forum?
